Raleigh, N.C. an unknown man was preparing to jump off a bridge in an attempt to end his life when Raleigh Senior Officer D.V. Hicks came upon him.  A Department of Transportation camera captured the encounter on film, what happened was unexpected.

August 31, 2015 A Garland Texas Police Officer named Michael Mallison was on his way to court in Dallas on U.S. Highway 80 when he saw a serious motor vehicle accident, smoke billowing and people gathering, so he stopped seeing of he could assist. It was good for a woman who was still trapped in the vehicle that he did.

Oklahoma Highway Patrolmen helped turn a shattered vacation into one an Indiana family may never forget.

An Indiana family of 8 is on a trip to the Grand Canyon, and then on to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado when on the road the unexpected happens. Their vehicle hits an unavoidable object that was in the roadway puncturing their gas tank. 900 miles from home two parents sitting in a disabled vehicle with their six children on the highway can be very nerve wracking especially when you don’t know a soul in the area. Unless you happen to be fortunate enough to be in Oklahoma when State Patrolmen Aaron Hunter and Chris Newcomb are around.

Glendora, Ca. Police Officer Danny Antillon Helps Disabled Woman get back on her feet

Glendora, Ca September 2, 2015 Patrol Officer Danny Antillon receives a complaint from several people of a woman sitting on a bench that is disoriented and to check her welfare. Upon arriving he sees a woman sitting on the bench who is in distress and without shoes. She is complaining that she has been a victim, someone stole her shoes and she had no money. Her feet hurt from walking and she was disabled. Antillon has been down this road before.

Orange County, Ky. Deputy Saves infant’s life

LOUISVILLE, Ky. September 1, 2015 – Thanks to the bravery of Orange County Deputy Dustin Rosenbaum who is a newly appointed Officer an infant is alive today. The child was trapped in a locked vehicle that had been involved in an accident and was engulfed in flames when he arrived on the scene.

Nassau County, N.Y. Officer John Saleh rescues dog .. keeps it in the family

August 24, 2015 Nassau County, New York Officer John Saleh responded to a complaint of an abandoned dog in an apartment and rescued the part German Shepard mix. The dog was taken to a shelter in Wantagh, NY where it was put up for adoption according to Nassau County Police’s Facebook Page. But the story goes a bit beyond that.

Waterford, Ct. Dispatchers take a call and respond themselves

August 25, 2015 Waterford, Ct. Dispatchers Laurie Lewis and Ronnie Williams receive a routine call from A 10 year old girls mother who reported that a new bike had been stolen. It was a present to celebrate Keira Gray’s 10th birthday and it was her mother who was reporting the incident. Dispatchers Lewis and Williams did more than just take a report.

Off Duty Colorado Springs Police Sgt. stops to help two motorists three leave.

August 28, 2015 at about 6:36 P.m. Sgt. Keith  Wrede was on the road after having left work and was flagged down by a motorist needing assistance. He stopped his vehicle to see what the problem was. Marc Hermanson, the motorist was frantic stating that he and Amanda Evanson were on the way to the hospital. Evanson was giving birth and the baby just had other plans than waiting to get to the hospital!

Prince George County, Md. Corporal Che’ Atkinson gives assistance to mother and child.

When domestic abuse occurs people turn  to the Police. In turn many displaced family members then turn to other members of family for assistance. But what if they can’t help or get there quick enough? Normally, the people looking for help are stuck. Unless there is someone who is really willing to go out of their way and be a good Samaritan. Thankfully it happened Thursday August 27, 2015 for one mother and her One year old daughter.

When you are lost, almost out of gas and your cell phone has no data left on it you start getting nervous. An important meeting in an unfamiliar area leaving Grace Atherton in these circumstances left her hoping for a break and it came in the form of a K-9 Officer named Ron Shelnutt and his partner “Kyto”.
