Wake County, N.C. Deputy fired upon and Injured during warrant execution

A Wake County Sheriff’s Deputy was shot at during the execution of a warrant early Tuesday morning. The Deputy suffered injuries from the encounter.

Indianapolis, IN. Officer struck by vehicle during accident investigation, partner shoots at fleeing suspect

During the routine investigation of an accident, a vehicle not involved in the original accident driving the wrong way is stopped. The operator becomes agitated and hits the officer with his vehicle.

Officers were investigating a traffic accident around 6:45 P.M. in the eastbound lanes of 38th Street between Franklin Road and the I-465 overpass. During the course of their investigation another vehicle entered the lane going the wrong way.

Officers stopped the vehicle that was going the wrong way and started to talk with the driver who became agitated. During the discussion that Officers were having with the driver he became irate and attempted to leave the scene. As he left he struck the officer with his vehicle causing him injury. The second officer fired his weapon at the fleeing vehicle.

Officers gave chase to the vehicle and apprehended the driver a short while later.

Deputy Chief Valerie Cunningham told WISHTV8  “A vehicle is a weapon; we stand here extremely fortunate that the officer was not seriously injured or killed by that vehicle.”

The officer that was struck has suffered injury to his hand and possible back injuries.

Unified Police K-9 “Aldo” has been shot and killed in the line of duty

Officers attempting to execute a warrant and search for a fugitive using a K-9 from the Unified Police Department encountered resistance from the subject resulting in the loss of the K-9.

Fairview police officer shot in Gresham Wednesday night is expected to survive.

Officers responding to a motor vehicle accident were fired upon, one officer being sturck. One suspect is in custody.

Pittsylvania County, Va. Sheriff’s Deputy shot answering domestic call, 1 suspect in custody

A standoff that started Tuesday evening and ended around 1 a.m. Wednesday was prompted by a call for help from a member of the suspect’s family. The nature of the disturbance was that of a domestic dispute.

Deputies arrived on the scene around 6:30 P.M. and Brian Cundiff fired upon Officers wounding one. Cundiff retreated into his residence where he barricaded himself on Blair Lane for close to seven hours while negotiators tried making contact.  Continue reading “Pittsylvania County, Va.
