Fallen St. Louis County Officers child receives teddy bears made from dads uniforms

Malachi Snyder, the son of late St. Louis County police officer Blake Snyder may never remember the father that was taken from him but he will always remember what he stood for.

Two teddy bears were presented to Malachi Snyder the son of fallen St. Louis County Police Officer Blake Snyder who was killed in the line of duty on October 6, 2016.

Photos of Malachi holding two bears that were made from his father’s uniform were posted on Elizabeth Snyders Facebook page with the following message:

These beautiful bears were made for us from Blake’s uniforms

Police Officer Blake Snyder was shot and killed while responding to a disturbance on the 10700 block of Arno Drive in Green Park, Missouri, shortly after 5:00 am.

He and another officer had arrived at the scene and were met with gunfire immediately as they exited their patrol cars. Officer Snyder was shot at point blank and killed instantly. The second officer was able to return fire and wounded the subject.

Officer Snyder had served with the St. Louis County Police Department for four years. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth and 2-year-old son Malachi.
