San Antonio police officer killed in ambush outside Police headquarters writing a summons

A San Antonio police officer was ambushed outside Police headquarters while performing a routine traffic stop on Sunday according to the Chief of Police.

San Antonio, Tx.. Sunday about noon an Officer was performing a routine traffic stop when a vehicle pulled up behind the officer’s unit a suspect exited the vehicle walked up to the Officers passenger window and executed the officer in cold blood.

Chief of Police William McManus spoke to reporters and stated that the suspect is described as a black male, 5′ 7″to 6-foot tall, wearing a gray shirt and black pants. The suspect had been in a black vehicle.

The officer was a 20-year veteran of the force, but no other details were given.

The officer was shot once in the head execution style and no other information was given regarding the type of weapon used or of the progress of the investigation. The man did fire a second shot after striking the officer in the head.
