Kingman, Az. Police Officer shot, 1 suspect dead

An Officer was shot during a warrant execution in Kingman, Az. during the execution by a 53 year old man who was then shot by officers who returned fire.

Thursday morning around 9:30 A.M. near the 1700 block of Miami Avenue Kingman police executed a search warrant for stolen property at a residence where a 53 year old man opened fire on Police Officers striking one officer.

Officers returned fire immediately striking the man who was later identified as Jeffrey Clair Cave. Cave was later pronounced dead at the scene. The police officer was transported to a local hospital where he underwent surgery and is currently listed in serious, but stable condition.

The Kingman Police Department has not identified the Officer that as shot nor the officer or officers that returned fire at this time.

BHCPD Investigating Kingman Officer-Involved Shooting

The Bullhead City Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred in Kingman.
On Thursday, September 29th at approximately 9:30 a.m., the Kingman Police Department executed a search warrant for stolen property at a residence in the 1700 block of Miami Avenue.
Initial information indicates that 53-year-old Jeffrey Clair Cave of Kingman fired a weapon toward officers and a police officer was shot. Cave was also shot and later pronounced dead at the scene. The police officer was transported to a local hospital where he underwent surgery and is currently listed in serious, but stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing and additional information will be provided as it becomes available. It is protocol to have an outside agency investigate an officer-involved shooting incident.
