East Liverpool, Ohio Police Show graphic effects of heroin addiction

The Police Department in East Liverpool, Ohio displayed the effects of heroin use and addiction not only to the users but to others left in its wake.

The East Liverpool Police Department gave a serious wake up call to Facebook users with a graphic post from a traffic stop that Officer Kevin Thompson made on September 7, 2016. Two adults were traveling on the highway with a child in the vehicle.

The operator of the vehicle was pulled over for operating the vehicle erratically. When the vehicle was stopped the operator’s head was “bobbing back and forth his speech was almost unintelligible.”

The operator of the vehicle James Acord was apparently attempting to get his passenger Rhonda Pasek, to the hospital. While attempting to explain this to Officer Thompson Acord passed out behind the wheel. The only person that was coherent and awake was the 4 year old child that was in the back seat of the motor vehicle that belonged to Pasek.

A medical crew was contacted immediately who administered Narcan for heroin overdose.

According to court documents, Acord pled guilty to operating a vehicle while impaired and endangering a child. Pasek pled not guilty to endangering a child, disorderly conduct and public intoxication. Her case is still open.

The boy was taken to children’s services.
