Utica, N.Y. Police & Community get ready for back to school with picnic for kids

Utica Police Officers hosted a picnic along with community members for local kids who are returning to school recently.

The Utica, N.Y. Police posted a photo on their Facebook page and wrote the following:

Yesterday evening (August 17, 2016) members of the Utica Police Department grilled over 100 hot dogs and served them to children participating in the JCOTD back to school event at Johnson Park.

Chief Williams would like to thank Officer Maynard Anken and Officer Jimmy Dongsavanh for their Community outreach along with Lowes Home Improvement Center, the Compassion Coalition, and the Thomas Lindsey Foundation for their partnership to help make this event possible. Be on the lookout in the community for future cookouts hosted by members of the Utica Police Department as we look to improve our positive police/citizen interactions with our city’s youth.
