Scott Whitley, special agent in charge of the Eastman GBI office, said 24-year-old Royheem Delshawn Deeds was arrested in a vehicle stop at about 1:30 a.m. Monday on U.S. 1 in Naussau County, Fla.
Deeds reportedly was hiding in the trunk of his sister’s car when he was caught.
Officers also arrested his sister, Franshawn Deeds, 22, of Lumber City, and her boyfriend, Jamil Mitchell, 32, also of Lumber City.
Early Monday morning, authorities announced the arrest of 24-year-old Royheem Delshawn Deeds, who had been identified as the suspected gunman of Eastman Officer Tim Smith. He was arrested in Nassau County, Florida, which is north of Jacksonville. According to the Telfair Sheriff’s Office, he has waived extradition and will be transported back to Ga. to face charges.
Officer Smith leaves behind two sons, a daughter, a stepson and his fiancée, Chelsea Clark. She said Smith always hugged her and the children and expressed his love for them each day before he went to work. The couple was together for two years and were on the verge of marriage. She told CNN, “We were engaged. We were trying to get on our feet before getting married.”

Update: Murder of Eastman Police Officer
Please be on the lookout for B/M Royheem Delshawn Deeds, age 24. Deeds is being sought by authorities for murder. The GBI, Eastman Police, and the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office are seeking the public’s assistance in reporting his whereabouts.
