Akron Police and Kids bond through 10th summer program

Police and kids in Akron spent a great day for the 10th year in a row together in memory of a fallen officer to provide children who have been victims of/or witnesses to crime and trauma, a fun-filled day free of violence.

On July 29th Police Officers from Akron, OH. Spent the day with local kids for the 10th year in a row having a picnic as they mentored the children and played together in what has become the KNAFF Picnic. (Kids Need a Firm Foundation)

Since 1994 when Officer George Knaff died on duty a picnic has been held for local children to mentor them and bring the community closer to its residence in his honor.

The Akron, OH. Police Department posted photos of the eventon their website and the following notice:

The KNAFF (Kids Need a Firm Foundation) Program and the Victim Assistance Program team up to host the annual KNAFF/Victim Assistance Picnic to provide children who have been victims of/or witnesses to crime and trauma, a fun-filled day free of violence. This year’s picnic was held Friday, July 29th.
