Rock Island, Il. Police Department Officers Arrest the heat for citizens

Officers from Rock Island, Il Police Department helped residents in the 100 plus heat cool off on Thursday July 21 by buying freezer pops and opening some fire hydrants for kids to cool off.

High temperatures have been a problem in the area for Rock Island, Il. Residents with the 100 plus degree weather recently. So Officers reached into their own pockets to help out by purchasing freezer pops then opening fire hydrants for citizens.

The Rock Island Police Department posted a slew of photographs from the day when they blocked off streets, played with children getting them to enjoy some cold water from the open fire hydrants and chilled out with a refreshing summer treat.

The officers pooled their own money to purchase the freezer pops to hand out to residents throughout the city.
