Randolph County Al. Sheriff’s deputy Shot, Hostage situation in progress.

An Alabama sheriff’s deputy was shot Saturday while responding to a call involving a man who killed his son’s dog, according to reports.

A Deputy in Randolph County was taken to UAB Hospital after being shot while responding to a call on County Road 357 and County Road 7, according to a dispatcher. The call was apparently that of a man who had shot his sons dog and started a fire in another location.

The Deputy was fired upon and did return fire. It is unknown what injuries the Deputy sustained he was however transported to a Local Hospital for emergency treatment.

A SWAT Team was sent for staging in the area once the man barricaded himself inside a trailer with his wife. It is believed she is being held hostage at his time.

Several agencies are at the scene to assist with the situation as it unfolds.
