2 Ouachita Parish, LA. Deputies shot serving felony warrant, 1 in custody

Authorities say two sheriff’s deputies from the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office In Louisiana were shot and wounded while serving a felony warrant.

Ouachita Parish Chief Deputy Mac Mashaw from the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office  said in a brief news release that the shooting happened just after 6 a.m. Thursday. 

At 10:15am Sheriff Russell held a brief news conference with little more information.

The suspect who shot the two deputies is named Ricky Wade, Jr. He has a criminal history.

Both officers will undergo surgery at a Monroe hospital. The deputies are being treated. Their conditions are unknown.

Wade crawled into the attic of the home and deputies used gas to get him out of the house. Charges against Wade are pending.

Additional details about the shooting weren’t immediately available.

One deputy was shot in the neck. The incident happened early Thursday morning at a home near 165 South and Winnsboro Rd.
