San Diego Police Officer makes sure 4 kids make it to Sr. Ball after they are involved in crash

Friday night, four La Costa Canyon High School students crashed on their way to the Sr. Ball, SDPD Officer Mark Hendricks responded to the call.

Friday evening 4 teens were involved in a two car motor vehicle accident as they were heading to the senior ball. With their vehicle out of commission they had no way to get to the ball before the doors closed not allowing admittance.

Officer Mark Hendricks of the San Diego Police Department not only took the accident report but saved the evening for them.

Knowing that they would not be able to get a ride form their parents in time and arrive at the event before the doors closed he told the 4 teens to hop in the Police car and he gave them a ride to the ball  in his cruiser.

“You could tell they were pretty bummed,” Hendricks explained. “They were all dressed in tuxes and prom dresses.”

“They said they were going to their prom. I think it was around 8:45 p.m., and they said their prom doors were closing at 9:00 p.m.,” he added.

“I knew they weren’t going to make it if they had to wait for their parents to come down or get a taxi,” Hendricks said.

“They seemed to enjoy the ride,” Hendricks said. “They were taking selfies in the police vehicle and asking a lot of questions. It was fun for me as well.”
