The Hopewell, VA. Police Department Shared the following on their Facebook Page:

The officer in the photo, is Detective Barchanowicz. We are pleased to see that he upholds the Hopewell Police Department Values Statement: “We the members of the Hopewell Police Department, recognize our profound duty to uphold the public trust. An NBC12 viewer snapped this photo as Hopewell Police Department Detective Barchanowicz stopped his car, got his umbrella, and stood covering a disabled man waiting at a bus stop that had no shelter in the heavy downpour.
“This was on Oaklawn Blvd at the corner of Wilmington Street. God Bless this officer who helped a double amputee in this awful rain.” said the viewer.
