Stillwater, Ok. Police Department recruits a very special young man

A 10 year old boy who has a disability yet dreams of being a Police Officer has achieved his goal thanks to the Stillwater, Ok. Police Department

On April 4, 2016 The Stillwater, Ok. City Council held a special presentation for a very special young man named Riley Hoffman, Now known as Stillwater Police Officer Riley Hoffman (Honorary).  He was introduced by Stillwater Police Captain Kyle Gibbs and then sworn in by the same Judge who swears in Officers to the Department with the same oath of office with the exception of adding the word honorary.

“We are flattered and honored that Riley wants to join our ranks,” Stillwater Police Captain Kyle Gibbs said. “In fact, we are thankful for people like Riley who remind us of why we wanted to serve the community to begin with.”

Riley has some physical disabilities that he believes will disqualify him from ever being able to serve in the capacity of being a Police Officer however his spirit is one that was recognized and appreciated by all. The Mayor Gina Noble proclaimed April 4th Riley Hoffman day in the city as well.
