Las Vegas Metro Police bring inner City kids to spring break

The Las Vegas Metro Police have brought dozens of inner city in danger youth to a summer camp for a day of relaxation, fun and friendship.

March 23, 2016 LVMP Officers have teamed up with nonprofit organizations to take kids of all ages away from the dangerous inner city areas where there are no summer programs or parks for them to play, to a place where they can enjoy fishing horseback riding and fresh air away from the daily struggle of the streets.

25 kids were taken to “Camp Gateway” named so because the kids were selected from an area of Las Vegas notorious for being a gateway for criminal activity such as gangs, drugs and prostitution.

The kids spent their time fishing, playing games, interacting and playing with members of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, enjoying miniature horses from the Horses 4 Heroes program.
