Fort Worth, Tx. Officer shot, suspect dead second suspect being sought

Officer attempted to stop two men who ran into wooded area of Fort Worth, The officer attempted to follow them. An exchange of gunfire took place. One suspect died and second is still being sought.

The Officer’s name has not been released yet and is being treated for critical wounds after receiving what is believed to be multiple gunshot wounds. 

The deceased shooter, identified by the Parker County Sheriff Larry Flower as Ed McIver, is the father of the fugitive identified by police, Ed McIver Jr.

Dozens of officers are converging on the area that the suspect was last seen in a manhunt for him now. Helicopters from Dallas have been seen in the area of the manhunt.

The incident occurred near the 2800 block of Longvue Avenue, near Chapin Road, where both men who were armed jumped from the vehicle and ran into a wooded area, police said. Law enforcement officials have asked that area residents lock down in place and do not approach the subject. He is considered to be armed and dangerous.

By 6:30 P.M. Local time the second subject had been caught without further incident.

 

No further information on the officer or his conditions as family members were being notified as of this time.
