Yesterday evening officers responded to a theft of money in the northeast area of Aurora. The victims were a group of girls scouts selling cookies. The suspect was able to get away with their earnings. Officer Jared Krieger and Officer Ryan Wenke arrived at the location and during their investigation sent out a notification to members of the Aurora Police Police Department notifying them of the theft.

The notification prompted a significant response from all three districts. Purchases and donations were made to the Girl Scouts in an attempt to take care of their loss. Officers quickly spread the word and other members and businesses of the community also made donations.

The suspect was described as a black male, 17-20 years of age, 5’7″, wearing a black and white bandana, black hoodie, and black pants.

Anyone with information is asked to contact dispatch at (303) 627-3100.

It was reported that over 20 Officers responded to more than make up for the Girl Scouts losses of $325.00 out of their own pockets either by buying cookies or simply by just making donations. Community members also came out to purchase cookies from the scouts.
