January 14, 2016 in a follow up to the article posted on January 12, 2016 titled “Lima, Oh. Lima Ohio Police Wanted man turns in a selfie .. but not himself” the subject Donald A. “Chip” Pugh who taunted The Lima Police Department
was captured by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office in the State of Florida today. Pugh’s antics garnered him quite a bit of notoriety after his booking photo appeared on the Lima Police Department’s Facebook page appeared and he apparently sent them back a different photo stating “Here is a better photo that one is terrible.”
Originally Pugh had an active warrant for his arrest over an alleged “failure to appear” in court last month for an arraignment in a drunken-driving charge. He was also allegedly a person of interest in in other cases, including an arson and vandalism, though there are no active arrest warrants for those charges.
After sending in a new photograph to the Lima Police Department the Facebook page of the Department reflected his request to update the photo with his new ‘selfie’ although his sense of humor backfired gathering him much more attention than he would have wished.
His story was picked up by social media, news papers and television shows across the region, nation and world.
Lima Police have posted the following to their facebook page: Thanks to the power of social media & tips called into authorities, we have learned that Donald Chip Pugh has been arrested by the Escambia County Sheriffs Office in Florida. He is being held for warrants out of Columbus, Georgia, which he was out of the pick up radius for in Ohio but not in Florida. Alas we will wait our turn. Thank you to Escambia County & to those who provided information and continue to support law & order.
The WBL hopes that Mr. Pugh is satisfied with his new booking photo;
