Orange, Ma. Police Officer Bisceglia helps dog find it’s friend .. was this Lassie by chance?

January 5, 2016 The Orange Ma Police Department Posted the following heartwarming story to it’s facebook page. Congratulations are in order to both Officer Bisceglia for his compassion in continued efforts to find this animal, Firefighter Hopkins  for his save and teh animal for not giving up on it’s companion!

This morning, a resident of Orange had a medical condition and needed to be transported to the hospital. Her two terrier type dogs were outside and ran off down the road. Officers tried to catch them, but they would not let anyone get close to them. North Quabbin Animal Control was notified. A few hours later, Orange Officer Bisceglia drove through the neighborhood again, hoping to spot the dogs. One of the dogs ran up to him, barking. The dog insisted that the officer follow him through a field to an embankment. Officer Bisceglia saw that the second dog had slid on the ice, approximately 30 feet down to the bottom, and was wedged in some overgrowth. Orange Fire was requested and firefighters used a ground ladder to extend down the embankment. Firefighter Hopkins carried the dog up to safety. Both dogs were taken by animal control to the veterinarian to be checked over. Apparently, any dog in the right circumstance can turn into “Lassie”! Nice work by all involved.
