November 25, 2015 According to WDRB in Louisville, Ky. Officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department along with the Greater St. Mark Baptist Church continued their 15 year tradition of providing meals for people on Thanksgiving. Officers helped prepare then deliver meals for people as well as set up 4 different locations where people could be served meals for the Holiday.
Hundreds of people were served across the city which helped so many especially the elderly who were unable to cook for themselves.
“Well in the spirit of Thanksgiving, this is the best way for us to help give back to the community. I brought my two sons out today. I have a 16-year-old that goes to Male High School and I have a 12-year-old that goes to JCTMS. I wanted to show them the true meaning of Thanksgiving,” said LMPD Sgt. Clayton Elliot.
