November 22, 2015 Denver, Co. While on Patrol in Denver, Colorado Police Officers Ismael Lopez and Officer Steven Siedel happened upon a vehicle that had several people sleeping inside it. They investigated the circumstances surrounding the occupants and found that between the family of 4 occupants they didn’t have enough money for shelter for the night. Two 46 year olds a 22 year old and 2 year old child were in danger due to temperatures dropping. The Officers attempted to get vouchers through public agencies for shelter for the family but were unsuccessful. So the Officers did what they were compelled to do.
They took money from their own pockets and put the family of four people up in a hotel themselves at their own expense rather than see a child having to sleep in a cold vehicle.
The event did not escape the Denver Police Department’s notice as they posted it up on their facebook page. Sadly most others won’t ever know of the kindness of the two officers unless we share this information.
