Pasco County, Fl. Sheriff’s Office makes a dying 7 year old’s wish come true

September 29, 2015 Pasco County, Fl – 7 year old Spencer Holt has been diagnosed with Mitochondrial disease and spends most of his days in the hospital. He is terminal and there is no cure for him. He has childhood dreams just like other kids though. One is to be a crime fighter and another is to fight zombies and save the day. Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco made Spencer’s wishes come true even if it was just for a day.

Spencer was given a Police escort from School to a Jail facility by Deputies where he was met by the Sheriff who then gave him some tokens of remembrance of the day like a toy Police car. The Sheriff knelled and spoke to the child who had been brought in sitting in his wheelchair about bravery on a daily basis and facing life’s challenges and made him an honorary Deputy Sheriff of Pasco County.

On cue a Pasco County Deputy in full S.W.A.T. gear ran into the room where Sheriff Nocco and young newly appointed Deputy Spencer were having their discussion. He exclaimed in a very worried tone that zombies had rushed the jail and they needed to have assistance immediately to drive them back and regain control of the Jail.

The Sheriff asked for Spencer’s help with this important task and if he would lead the charge of the Deputies in repelling the zombie attackers. Spencer agreed and climbed out of his wheel chair and the two of them made a plan at the white board on how to progress through the Jail and retake the blocks.

After the plan was drafted young Deputy Holt walked through the jail with his official issued NERF Zombie fighting gun along with his fellow Deputies and they fought the Zombies that were laying in wait that were played by local drama students from the areas High Schools.

After the Jail was cleared of all the Zombies Deputies from the Jail gave Spencer a show themselves. They danced to Michael Jacksons song “Thriller” and performed the dance that was made so famous from his video for him.

Just for a day, a 7 year old boy who has been spending so much time in his short life in the hospital was able to forget that he has no future thanks to Pasco County Sheriff Nocco, his Deputies and the students who helped play such excellent zombies.

WKRN covered the entire story and has posted two videos regarding the event that will be so memorable for Deputy Spencer Holt.
