LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) Officer Michael Leek with the Louisville Metro Police Department was handling a call when he met 8 year old Clarence who helped the Officer search for some lost keys. During the 30 minutes of searching the two struck up a conversation and became fast friends. During the conversation Officer leek noticed that The boys bicycle was in great disrepair and young Clarence told him that it was left out in the rain often and in bad shape. That his other bike had been stolen and this was the best he could get.
Soon after, Officer leek saw Clarence again without his bike and asked where his bike was, Clarence replied it had been stolen.”I saw him again, and I said, Hey where’s your bike at? And he said someone stole it, and I said man I’m sorry to hear that and he said, it’s OK they probably needed it more than I do.”. It was his attitude that caught the officer by surprise.

On today’s date a 15 year old girl reported her bicycle was stolen. The bicycle was her only mode of transportation to and from school. Lucky for her Sgt. Chad Mason was the officer who took her report. He was very quick to rally the community and solve her problem. By the end of the day he had collected enough money to go to Wal-Mart and buy her a new bicycle and delivered it with a few other officers for good measure.
Certainly a picture is worth a Thousand words, but in this case, it may be worth even more.

An Indiana family of 8 is on a trip to the Grand Canyon, and then on to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado when on the road the unexpected happens. Their vehicle hits an unavoidable object that was in the roadway puncturing their gas tank. 900 miles from home two parents sitting in a disabled vehicle with their six children on the highway can be very nerve wracking especially when you don’t know a soul in the area. Unless you happen to be fortunate enough to be in Oklahoma when State Patrolmen Aaron Hunter and Chris Newcomb are around.
We LOVE a feel good story!! Today is Mr. Willie’s 80th Birthday. All he wanted was a Bojangles lunch. Unfortunately, his motorized wheelchair broke down on the way there! Not to fear! Officer Flannery spotted Mr. Willie broken down on the side of the road and came to the rescue. And yes, he made sure Mr. Willie got the birthday lunch he was craving wink emoticon Happy Birthday, Sir!!! (Thanks to Darrell Dorsey for capturing the moment!)
