New Martinsville, W.V. Officers get a great surprise at lunch

On August 24, 2015 New Martinsville Officers Courtney South, Michael Owens and Jason Utt stopped by a local establishment known as the Peking Restaurant for a meal break. While there eating they were approached by a very young gentleman who evidently had some very important business he wanted to entertain with them.

The young man was named Kyle and appears to be less  than school age though his exact age is not known. However the Officers invited him to sit with them during their meal and they talked with him about what was on his mind.

They shared stories and talked with Kyle through the meal apparently fully enjoying his company as he did theirs.

After they finished at the table Captain Steve Kastigar was awaiting outside in Quinets parking lot to give Kyle a Patch from the New Martinsville Police Department and then  took him for a ride around the parking lot in the Police car. Naturally no “patrol” would be complete without lights and siren so Kyle got to turn those on as well during his mini ride along.

The memorable event was posted on the New Martinsville Facebook Page showing Kyle sitting with the officers.

Kyles mother Sheena Robbins posted on the Departments Facebook page: This was absolutely amazing! Brought tears to my eyes then and still does now reading this! I’m forever grateful for this memory. His patch has since been sewed on his jacket and anytime we leave he says”Do you have my police jacket mom?” KYLE SAID LET ME TELL THEM THANKS AND I LOVE THEM. (so I typed it for him)
